Vivant Care: A scalable digital operating model for a new premium brand.

For enterprise organisations, the launch of a new brand is rarely a linear path. It is a complex exercise in logistics, brand positioning and risk management. When Sanctuary Group conceptualised Vivant Care, a premium offering within the adult social care sector, the requirements extended far beyond visual identity. The inaugural site necessitated a digital foundation capable of supporting both immediate occupancy and the future expansion of the portfolio.

Sanctuary Group has been a partner of JBi Digital since 2022. This project required synchronising a digital rollout with a moving physical timeline, ensuring compliance and security for sensitive referrals and architecting a platform robust enough for scalability.

This case study breaks down the steps taken to deliver this project successfully.  It offers a blueprint for how trusted partnerships and agile teams can build a flexible digital framework that can grow as the brand expands.

The Strategic Context: Leveraging Established Authority

Vivant Care entered the market with a premium proposition distinct from Sanctuary’s core offering. However, the delivery team faced a critical dependency. The physical home was still under construction, yet the marketing machine was already in motion without a digital touchpoint.

This is where JBi came in.

Having successfully replatformed Sanctuary Group’s main ecosystem from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10 in 2023, JBi already possessed a deep understanding of the organisation’s governance, security protocols and digital ambitions. This foundational knowledge allowed the team to bypass onboarding friction and move straight to strategic execution.

The Strategic Framework: De-risking the Launch

To manage construction delays and meet immediate marketing requirements, JBi opted against a single, large-scale deployment. Instead, JBi developed a phased delivery plan to separate the brand’s digital debut from its longer-term operational needs. This approach enabled the Vivant Care team  to establish their online presence without waiting for the technical integration of the full estate.

Phase 1: The ‘Visual Promise’ (Microsite)

The strategic priority was speed-to-market without incurring technical debt. The team focused on establishing a scalable design system immediately, ensuring that early code was a foundation rather than a prototype.

  • Discovery & IA Mapping: To solve the zero-base challenge, JBi facilitated stakeholder design and discovery workshops. These sessions mapped distinct user journeys for emotional decision-makers, such as families, and rational referrers, such as healthcare professionals. This ensured the navigation was intuitive before a single line of code was written.
  • Accessibility by Default: In the care sector, inclusivity is non-negotiable. The site was built to strict WCAG 2.2 AA standards from the component level up, ensuring compliance for users with visual, hearing or motor impairments.

Phase 2: Corporate Ecosystem & Operational Rigour

As construction on the first home progressed, the platform scaled into a fully functional corporate entity. This phase shifted focus to empowering the internal team and securing data flows, while laying the groundwork for the brand’s national future.

  • Decoupled Workflows: Utilising a modular Drupal 10 architecture (consistent with Sanctuary’s wider estate) the team introduced advanced editorial workflows. This allowed Vivant Care’s marketing team to populate complex care details and advice articles independently of the development sprint, removing the developer bottleneck.
  • Search Architecture: A site-wide global search feature was implemented using the Drupal Search API to aid immediate discoverability.
  • Strategic Roadmap for Expansion: Crucially, the strategy extends beyond the immediate build. During the initial workshops, JBi and Sanctuary mapped out a high-level roadmap for the next 18+ months of growth. To support the expanding portfolio, the site was built to scale in alignment with our agreed roadmap, which includes planned rollouts for enhanced search capabilities and dedicated care home listing sections. This ensures the digital platform is not just a snapshot of today, but a scalable asset ready for the brand’s national future.

Establishing a Digital Presence

The initial phase focused on the rapid delivery of a high-performance landing page. This enabled Vivant Care to secure an immediate online presence and commence lead generation while the physical site remained under construction. By utilising the creative assets already produced for the wider project, we ensured brand consistency from the outset.

Following this initial launch, the project entered a planned pause. The comprehensive designs intended for the full site remained ready for implementation, ensuring that the transition to the next stage of development would be seamless. This approach allowed the brand to maintain its marketing momentum without the need to wait for the final completion of the physical facility.

The Value: A Solid Foundation for Marketing

The value of this engagement lies in the balance of speed, stability and sovereignty.

  • Operational Sovereignty: The modular architecture grants the marketing team 100% editorial control. They can launch landing pages for new homes instantly as the portfolio grows, without raising a ticket with IT.
  • Enterprise Security: The integration of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for back-office access and secure, validated webforms ensures that sensitive enquiry data is handled with the rigour expected of a national provider.
  • The Partnership Dividend: By utilising the existing relationship with Sanctuary Group, JBi ensured that hosting architecture and brand alignment were seamless from Day 1. This proves the value of a long-term digital partner over a transactional vendor, turning institutional knowledge into delivery speed.

At a glance

  • The Objective: Establish a premium digital presence for a new premium care brand, strictly aligned with a moving physical construction timeline.
  • The Tech Stack: Drupal 10, Drupal Search, MFA Integration, WCAG 2.2 AA Compliance.
  • The Outcome: A secure, scalable corporate platform that evolved from a brochure microsite to a comprehensive digital ecosystem, delivered via a robust, risk-mitigated platform.

“We really enjoyed working with the team and, as an existing partner, it felt like a natural fit from the start. It’s been great to see the Vivant Care brand come to life through the website, and the whole process was smooth and genuinely enjoyable”
