Movie Lot

The Movie Lot is the leading provider of security, location support and traffic management to the British entertainment industry. Established in 1997, they have secured over a thousand productions, ranging from multimillion pound blockbuster projects to smaller independent productions.

The Movie Lot come equipped with a depth of knowledge and experience to assist every production however big and complex including festivals, events, static security and close protection. What’s more with operatives situated throughout the country The Movie Lot ensure their clients get this expertise at short notice.

The brief?

As The Movie Lot has grown and established itself as a big fish in the entertainment industry – it was then only a matter of time before the need arose for a new, fresh and altogether fabulous website.

The website needed to provide an interactive and user friendly project portfolio section with a homepage slider which would outline their list of case studies and highly established clients. They also wanted to improve the ‘look and feel’ of the website as well as make the navigation simpler and altogether more  direct for the user.

What we did

  • Built an interactive and ‘movie-scenic’ WordPress website design
  • Rebranded the project including designing a new logo
  • Integrated a sliding homepage banner allowing the user to flick through major movie titles
  • Put in place sliding sub banners and content boxes to break down the content on the website
  • Strategically placed certain calls to action throughout the website, including social media icons and the company’s contact us page
  • Designed a specific client page segregating client logos using a comprehensive category filtering system
  • Designed an online recruitment form allowing file uploads (images and CV)
  • Integrated a live Twitter feed on the homepage
  • Put in place a revolving client banner on the homepage
  • Developed a multimedia management including YouTube videos

JBi verdict

Well we go way back with The Movie Lot, in fact, we worked with them on our first ever project so for us it’s great to have a client come back bringing their website with them! So when Spike (Managing Director) approached us for the second time and told us what The Movie Lot were up to, our jaws literally dropped on the news of all the exciting productions they’d been working on. It comes as no surprise then that we were pretty excited to get stuck in with The Movie Lot’s next big website showcase.

What we loved about working with The Movie Lot was that we were always on the same (web)page throughout, from agreeing on the need for a website update as well as it’s branding overhaul. We think that the new website is a good reflection of not only what The Movie Lot do, but who they are and what they love. Just remember, that when the next Hollywood film comes out – The Movie Lot are most likely to be behind the scenes of it!
