The Brief

2CV made refreshing their outdated website a priority for the beginning of 2021. The 2CV team wanted an online home that would better reflect the agency’s global status and offering.

JBi was engaged to lead a collaborative Discovery phase before designing and developing the new website.

Key Objectives

  • To design and build an industry-leading, scalable and visually appealing website
  • To ensure that the website is responsive for all platforms and easily customisable through a user-friendly CMS
  • To optimise key user journeys, with a focus on generating leads and increasing the amount of time visitors spend on site
  • To successfully migrate and optimise 2CV’s blog with SEO in mind
  • To give the new website a modern look and feel while retaining key elements of 2CV’s brand

Mini Discovery

2CV’s new website needed to be built with a full understanding of its users, key performance indicators and SEO requirements. In order to achieve this while remaining within the agency’s tight timelines and budget, we planned and led a “Mini Discovery”.

This phase of the project was tailored to 2CV’s needs and included competitor benchmarking, a workshop with 2CV’s key stakeholders and detailed information architecture planning, culminating in a new sitemap and full report of our findings.

We conducted the full Discovery phase remotely due to COVID-19.

Impactful Design

2CV wanted its new website to be dynamic, with lots of movement, animations and colour.

Based on this brief and the outputs of the Mini Discovery phase, we designed two unique creative concepts, which we presented to the 2CV team.

Once a final concept was decided upon, we took this forward into the wireframing stage and, ultimately, the UI designs.

This culminated in an engaging and modern look and feel, epitomised by 2CV’s new Contact Us page, on which the user is “followed” by the local time for each of 2CV’s offices.

SEO Focus

SEO was a key consideration for this project and our SEO team was involved throughout, from Discovery to Go Live.

The website’s information architecture, wireframes and UI designs were all reviewed to ensure that everything was optimised before progressing.

A plan was created to ensure that we effectively merged the previous website (which had no CMS) with 2CV’s new online home, which is built on a WordPress CMS.

We also ran reports on 2CV’s existing blogs to discern which popular posts to migrate and which to remove due to weak search engine performance.

Finally, a general SEO assessment was carried out to ensure that all redirects had been applied properly; that meta descriptions were optimised; that no rogue 404 pages had been left; that content had been migrated correctly and that 2CV’s existing subdomains had been merged with the main domain without issue.
