Where to buy World Cup tickets last minute
Whooo are yaaa, whoo are yaaa! That’s right we’ve waited 4 years for the beautiful game to kick off and in fewer than 7 days it will well and truly be upon us.
But for those spontaneous enough to look into buying last minute world cup tickets to see our boys in Brazil, I’ve done the ultimate compare the market of the best ticket selling websites.Put simply, I’m looking for the site that offers the most for us England fans! So this includes:
- Finding out those hidden charges
- How easy it is to buy without hassle
- Who out there offers you the best ticket price for England tickets
And just look at what I found…
TicketBis
So not only is the process to search, find and buy a ticket to the matches extremely easy, but, TicketBis really gets the fans. I mean, come on look at this, World Cup spirit to boost us England fans or what…
Exactly, now who wouldn’t want to buy off a site that tells you they’ve ‘pulled some strings…and…made it possible to offer you some of the best England tickets for any match you want’. I don’t know about you, but I like that. Whether it’s true or not, for a massive event like the Cup, any site that keeps me chanting ‘whoo are yaa’ has got my vote.
What’s more the site’s dedicated England page means that with one click we can see exactly when and where our boys are playing, and how much each ticket starts at.
As of today, the price for a ticket to the England matches range from the following:
- England v Italy: £117.24 – £882.99
- England v Uruguay: £458.51 – £3,686.61
- England v Costa Rica: £150.61 – £919.78
But it’s worth noting that there is a delivery charge of £6.79, but it’s hardly one to break the bank. But just in case a visitor feels unsure about having to pay that extra few quid, TicketBis make it clear that they can deliver the tickets to our home, hotel or office. Again, how can you not love that.
And finally, from a web design point of view, just look at it, the order confirmation page is neat, clean and tidy. There’s no way anyone could get confused by it, let alone feel unsure about parting with their money. Let’s see if any of the other sites can top this one.
Live Football Tickets
Like TicketBis, Live Football Tickets offers the visitor a pretty swift and easy process to select and buy tickets. And with all those words of encouragement in the Why book with us and Customer testimonial sections, this site gives me no reason why I shouldn’t buy from them. And hey, they also have a dedicated England page! But, and it’s a big BUT, just compare the content on TicketBis to that on Live Football Tickets, enough said. Boring.
With that moan aside, the most important thing is how much those tickets cost. Lets see…
- England v Italy: £212.57 – £502.45
- England v Uruguay: £421 – £807.50
- England v Costa Rice: £166.25 – £522.50
Now if you thought, right, that’s expensive, but do-able, I’ve got news for you son. With a number of added charges including shipping costs, service fees and taxes, your original ticket price jumps up to a whopper. Just have a look below; what was originally £270.43 for a ticket to the England v Italy match, is now £384.29. TicketBis’ £6.79 delivery charge seems like nothing now, right?
I get it, it’s close to the event and it’s a market place website but, the service fee is a whopper, and having had a look on the Terms and Conditions to see why it’s so expensive draws nothing but a nil. From an ecommerce point of view, this isn’t good practice, and just because I’m on a roll, the final price on the site could be better displayed too. So for those reasons I wouldn’t fully advocate a buy from Live Football Tickets. Ouch.
Guarantee Tickets
Right, the Guarantee Tickets website is a lot like the ticket sites reviewed above. Well presented and incredibly easy to navigate; it’s pretty easy for the user to simply jump on, find what they’re looking for and in a few clicks get to the order confirmation page without much fuss. There’s also a dedicated page for England fans, (always a convenient thing to have) but, I’ve already found a problem with it. We’re England fans, but the prices are in Euros and there’s no currency converter, so this means I have to open a new tab and search how much the ticket is in £. Hmm not impressed.
Things don’t look all that great price wise either:
- England v Italy: £299.80 – 453.75
- England v Uruguay: £510.46 – £607.69
- England v Costa Rica: £267.00 – £336.46
(P.S. I’ve converted the Euros here to £ for a comparison)
One thing I am happy to see however, is that there’s just one standard delivery charge of £9.77, but this doesn’t mean Guarantee Tickets offer you the cheapest price on the market. So again, not quite there guys, and from my analysis so far, it looks like TicketBis are well and truly eating up the competition.
Tickets4Football
Okay, so it’s much much busier in terms of design than the other sites reviewed on this blog, and from a personal point of view, the layout doesn’t really fill me with the greatest amount of trust to buy from them. Also, for us England fans, there’s no dedicated page listing our boys matches, so we’ve got to go on a search, find and compare mission. You can tell I’m not all that happy.
And, what’s this?! The difference in the face value of a ticket is equal to what the ticket’s worth! As much as this is expected when it comes to buying tickets on vendor sites, it’s quite a lot or maybe it’s because the other site’s don’t display their face value prices. I don’t know about you but I’m not quite feeling the love for Tickets4Football.
In any case what price are we looking at for these matches:
- England v Italy: £200 – £600
- England v Uruguay: £499 – £850
- England v Costa Rica: £300 – £700
So again, these tickets are not the cheapest in the market. What’s more, knowing that the face value is so much cheaper than the ticket price is already a bit of a shocker, but with an added booking fee, tax and delivery, the price has increased by at least 150% as you can see below. I will say this though, charge or no charge, Ticket 4 Football don’t hide. That for me, is good ecommerce practice. Every cloud has a silver lining and all.
eSeats.com
A lot like Ticket 4 Football’s site, eSeats.com is a site where web design aesthetics don’t feature as a massive priority, but functionality does. Now, that’s not a bad thing, but, I would think, making a website more attractive would naturally keep a user engaged.
And, with no easy go-to page for England fans, we’ve got to go go through a number of pages to find the tickets. I can’t say I feel all that special to the way TickeBis did.
But enough of that, let’s see those ticket prices:
- England v Italy: £193.93 – £760.83
- England v Uruguay: £459.48 – £2,231.74
- England v Costa Rica: £104.43 – £907.02
But as with them all, there’s not so much of a catch involved with eSeats, but there are a number of charges that add on to that original value of the ticket. So for instance, you’ve got shipping and a service charge. Now, although you have an option in delivery, the price does jump a bit. Ah, and one thing that is just annoying is that the final price is in US dollars!
Who wins?
So it’s a pretty easy to see who’s won here, it’s got to be TicketBis hands down. From a general well presented layout to easy navigation, TicketBis ticks the boxes from a web design point of view. But TicketBis definitely tops the league in offering the customer the best value for England fans as well as making us feel special, and you can’t put a price on that can you. With no nasty surprises, let alone extortionate charges on shipping, delivery or tax, TicketBis wins on all fronts.
Now, I know this blog is meant to be more of a compare the market, but I can’t help myself but to share some ecommerce tips I found as a result of my review.
