Lost Boy Finds Home With Google Earth 25 Years Later

In 1987 Sanroo Brierly was with his brother after a long day of begging in the streets of India. They boarded a train that was supposed to take them home, but the boys fell asleep as the train took them to an unfamiliar location across the country.

The memories of his experience after getting off the train are not happy ones. After time searching for his way him, he nearly drowned in the Ganges river, and also came close to being abducted and sold into slavery. Somewhere on his long journey, his brother sadly passed away.

Sanroo was eventually found as a lost child, and adopted by an Australian couple. He graduated at the University of Canberra, and now owns a shop in Tasmania. Despite this he never stopped looking for his family. He began using the internet to find his original home around 10 years ago, relying on vivid memories from his past. He used Google Earth website to find familiar places, and succeeded in finding a major clue last month.

Even though there was a language barrier, the reunion with his family was joyful and emotional. Sanroo intends to make a movie about his life in the future.
