Harry Potter turns 20, Facebook celebrates

No, not the boy who lived, the book series chronically his and his friends’ magical adventures through the halls and corridors of Hogwarts.

In June 1997, J. K. Rowling introduced us to the world to Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and the rest of the magicking world with the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the United States).

The series included a total of seven books, selling over 500 millions copies as of May 2013, and eight films, grossing over £8 billion.

There’s no denying its success, just ask anybody, they know Harry Potter in some way or another and the future promises more adventures in the magicking world with more entries coming to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film series.

Facebook is celebrating the anniversary with a magical easter egg – statuses containing the phrase: ‘Harry Potter, ‘Gryffindor,’ ‘Ravenclaw,’ ‘Hufflepuff,’ or ‘Slytherin’ will display a neat little animation of a wand casting a spell when tapped. Check it out below:

There is Harry Potter magic on Facebook today!Mention these words in a post to activate the trick…⚡️ Harry Potter, Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff change colors – if you touch the names, magic happens! ????
