We are happy to confirm that JBi Digital has been awarded Cyber Essentials accreditation!

For those who are wondering, ‘what is ‘Cyber Essentials’ and what does this mean?’ Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed scheme that helps business to protect their organisation against the most common cyber attacks.

Cyber Essentials is the key entry point for organisations across the UK to ensure they have basic cyber health checks in place. Over time, IT systems can become out of date and vulnerable to attack. Basic level checks can be put in to protect companies from such threats (e.g. risks from phishing emails, patch updates and device security). Having good preventative controls help to avoid costly and dangerous attacks from happening, like the NHS ‘WannaCry’ ransomware attack in May 2017.

We opted for Cyber Essentials because we believe in their philosophy and would encourage our clients to do the same. Right now, we are helping some of our customers also gain Cyber Essentials accreditation.

JBi is currently in the final stages of also achieving ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, which we aim to achieve in the foreseeable future.

What does this mean for our clients?

Firstly, it means that our clients can rest assured that high cybersecurity standards and awareness are in place to protect ourselves and their websites alike. Some agencies have been known to forget about this or see it as a nice to have, but this is fundamental to ours and our clients’ online safety.

In addition, there is a fundamental cross-over between Cyber Essentials and GDPR. By stopping any malicious access to our cyber environments, we are also taking steps to ensure we meet GDPR compliance and protect our customer data.

If you have any questions, we are more than happy to have a conversation about how Cyber Essentials can help you.
