Wikipedia goes “Black” in protest of SOPA
Those that have been browsing the internet for information today may be shocked at the appearance of Wikipedia. In protest of SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act), they have turned replace their usually fresh and white design with a black landing page. This is a bold statement by Wikipedia, which is built on freedom of information from various users. They believe that SOPA could potentially damage over a decades worth of information.
The passing of SOPA means that people will have to think twice about the content they post on the internet. This means that there is the potential of facing prison because of things that we normally take for granted, such as; sharing music and videos on Facebook or Youtube.
