The Wonders of HTML 5

Coding by Sai Kiran Anagani

Many website designers have been getting carried away since HTML 5 was released on the internet by some sharp developers. HTML 5 makes websites more dynamic using new tags and transitions that weren’t available without the use of Java or Flash.

This also means most websites using the update to HTML 4, can be viewed on smart phones! Great news for web designers, web developers and digital agencies. No longer will websites have to be boring and static. Even business websites have something to gain from the new additions.

What’s New?

Video – Embed video into your web page, and freely adjust the size without losing quality. Useful for businesses who use video updates as a form of internet marketing.

Typography – Display vector fonts on your website, and adjust the rotation, shadow, and other elements. We have yet to see if it is useful for search engine optimisation.

Gallery – Eliminates the need for Flash galleries. With simple tags images can now dissolve, slide, fade and more. There is also a 3D style for safari users. Useful for social networking galleries.

Transitions – Web pages and objects can now move from one to another. Many portfolio websites use this to replace the common type of navigation.

Audio – Integrate audio into your website. Also useful for social networking websites that are targeted towards musicians.

360o – Using Java script, incorporate 360-degree elements into your web page. This will be great for E-commerce websites, as you can view an object in great detail, front and back.

VR – Include a virtual tour of a building. Good for businesses who want to show a venue or offices for clients.

Good HTML websites: View with Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 9.
