In times like these, technology can be a lifeline. Our smartphones, tablets and computers keep us connected to the outside world, provide us with access to food and supplies and give us the ability to keep in touch with loved ones.
The obvious drawback is that, in order to make the most of these benefits, we are all having to spend more and more time looking at screens.
The same can be said for children, for whom screen time has become central to everyday life. As their principal source of education and entertainment, it has become the norm for children of all ages – even toddlers – to spend several hours of the day staring at a screen.
