Gas Safety Trust launch new portal at the Science Museum

JBi are proud to announce that another client portal has been put live, and these guys did it in style! January 2015 marked the launch of Gas Safety Trusts’ CO Portal Website. The launch was held at the iconic London Science Museum where guests were treated to a champagne reception in the ‘Engineering Your Future’ gallery.

And what was on the big screens all around the gallery? You guessed it, the brand new portal. Guests were able to explore the Gas Safety Trusts’ CO Portal Website and all it’s new functionality and data. It was a pretty special moment for those who designed it.

The Gas Safety Trust (GST) is an online carbon monoxide (CO) portal, which is the central repository for data and information relating to CO in the UK.  It was JBi’s task to create a clean, informative and responsive CO Portal website that users could easily access all it’s resources and data. Since working with the Gas Safety Trust, JBi has been very impressed with their initiatives to raise awareness and to try and get a Carbon Monoxide alarm into every home around the UK. All employees at JBi can now claim to be a proud owner of one! We hope the portal will help make research more accessible for scientist’s and increase awareness of CO further throughout the UK.

The Portal has three main sections: Legislation and Standards, which includes information on Regulations, Standards, Guidance and Codes of Practice. Academic References, which is a searchable reference library of academic papers relating to CO. And finally Data and Documents, which contains reports and other general information on CO.

The launch was hosted by GST’s Chairman, Chris Bielby accompanied by speakers Baroness Finlay, Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Carbon Monoxide Group and author of the Group’s 2011 Preventing Carbon Monoxide Poisoning report, and Roland Wessling, a senior researcher who is undertaking a fundamental review of literature relating to CO as part of the CO+ Impact project. The event was attended by JBi Managing Director David Gelb (centre, right) and Lead Project Designer James Isles (right).

We thoroughly enjoyed the event as well as working with all the team at Gas Safety Trust. We hope to work on more exciting projects with them in the near Future.
