As if expensive laptops, computers, and mp3s weren’t enough, Apple is planning to release its own brand of High Definition Television sets. Apple already wears the crown when it comes to hardware, and the majority of graphic designers, producers, and web developers will most likely vouch for it, but will it really sell out like it’s previous products such as; Ipod, Ipad, Iphone, MacBook, Mac Desktop?
In terms of marketing, Apple has nothing to worry about; they’ve even managed to sell out on two versions of the Ipad, which in reality are just the Ipod Touch on steroids. There isn’t much information on how the HD TV set will benefit professionals. It will apparently utilise the iOS from the other products for navigation, and will be possibly be provided by LG, so the quality is definitely there.
What I’m wondering here is how it will interact with the other products. What if you’re a professional website designer? Will you be able to access the internet and creative software from the set? Will there be social network applications available to view your latest Facebook and Twitter notifications? How about connecting with other people using a Skype application? Maybe you can search Google or access Youtube at the click of an icon! Who knows? We’ll have to wait till later this year for more updates.
